Early Help

What is early help and family support?

If you are experiencing difficulties in your family or are worried about your children, there are people who can offer help and support. You might be having difficulties with:

  • Mental health
  • Domestic abuse
  • Debt
  • Housing
  • Your child’s schooling
  • Being a lone parent

Early help means providing support as soon as a problem appears, stopping it from getting worse. Lots of people offer early help it could be your doctor, a health visitor, school nurse. But it could be staff at a children’s centre, a community group or even a local church or faith group.

Worcestershire County Council provide lots of information on their website about places to get help and support in Worcestershire.

Targeted Family Support

Sometimes families need extra help with challenges and difficulties at home. Information about Targeted Family Support Workers and Community Social Workers and how they might be able to help can also be found on the Worcestershire County Council website.
